Classic Coachworks designs and prototypes products from concept through to production-ready manufacturing. Our design capability spans interior components, seat systems, foam products, safety-critical assemblies, and composite fabrication across the rail, defence, healthcare, and transport sectors.

What we design and build:

Passenger seat systems — custom foam profiles, headrests, armrests, and complete seat assemblies designed to meet fire retardancy, durability, and comfort requirements for rail, bus, marine, and defence applications.

Fire-retardant foam products — polyurethane foam formulations engineered to meet Australian and international fire safety standards, including AS 1530.3 and EN 45545 for rolling stock applications.

Composite and fabricated components — fibreglass, carbon fibre, and composite panels, housings, and structural components for transport and industrial applications.

Prototyping and testing — from initial concept and 3D modelling through to prototype manufacture, accelerated life cycle testing, and production tooling. We work to client specifications or develop designs from a performance brief.

Whether it's redesigning a legacy seat to meet new fire standards, developing an impact-absorbing product for a healthcare application, or reverse engineering an obsolete component, our process starts with understanding the requirement and ends with a manufactured, tested product ready for production.
